PASSION PROJECTS
Sneakers By Riss
What started out as a something to keep me occupied on long car trips to lacrosse tournaments, Sneakers By Riss quickly turned into a small side-hustle that still to this day I have a huge passion for.
Since it’s inception, I’ve created about a dozen custom illustrated shoes, all done by freehand using a combination of Sharpies and Micron Pens. I typically take a couple ideas or a “theme” from my friends, family, etc. and from there, design one shoe at a time.
The average pair takes me about 20-30 hours depending on the level of detail involved and I love every second of it.
Illustrations & Prints
As a child who grew up on the glory days of 80’s and 90’s Nickelodeon, I’d like to think my illustration style has been influenced by those I saw growing up.
Everyone from Eric Molinsky on Rugrats, to Craig Barlett on Hey Arnold! has had an impact on me because as I slowly began to develop my own style, I always found myself going back to their approaches whether it be their intricate line work, or use of color.
In the time since, I’ve come to realize that it’s in the details where great illustrations come to life and that’s what keeps me passionate about art & design as a whole.
